Amma says that in this day and age, it's Bhakti (devotion) which is the most practical spiritual sadhana.
“Bhakti, or devotion, is the practical way of getting rid of sorrows. Bhakti is a practical science. Bhakti is not blind superstitious belief. It is this faith that removes darkness from our hearts. Not only does it help us unburden our heart, it also amplifies our sense of righteousness and inspires us to be compassionate towards the distressed. Devotion to God and compassion for the world are but two sides of the same coin.” - Amma.
Amma also says that Tattwatille Bhakti (Devotion based on true understanding) is what is needed to be practiced. When we start on the path of bhakti, we start receiving the fruits of the practice almost immediately. This series of Bhakti retreats will explore the path of Bhakti, based on the most ancient and revered text, The Narada Bhakti Sutras.
There will be QA sessions after the satsangs. The retreat will also consist of guided devotional practices like chanting of the 108 names, manasa puja (mental worship) and Ma Aum meditation.
How does it work
The intention of this retreats is that you can have a similar experience to those who take them in the Amritapuri Ashram.
This is the reason why there needs to be a commitment from your side to set aside two days for this sadhana retreat, without splitting the content.
The videos will only be available for 100 hours after you purchase it.
Please go through the two talks on Narada Bhakti Sutras available in the Amritapuri (Youtube) channel. The satsangs will be a continuation of these talks.
Four hours set aside each day for this retreat (2 days total). To prepare in advance, we suggest the following:
Look at the calendar, and chart out the exact time window you would like to take time off for your retreat. Is it better for you on a weekend?
Once you know the day you want to take it, register for the retreat the day before, since you should start the retreat at 6am on the desired day.
